DC Dance's Indoor and Outdoor Studio Space
In 2021 we moved into an 4,000 square foot studio in Culver City to help our students continue moving, dancing and having fun in a safe, open-air environment. Our main room, garage studio, is 3,600 sq. ft, our outdoor patio is 1,200 sq. ft, and our loft studio is a bright space upstairs. View studio space here.
Commitment Levels
There are programs for every commitment level -- from one or two dance classes a week to joining our Award-Winning Performance and Company Teams. We give all students the opportunity to showcase their hard work at performances throughout the year, including our Winter Nutcracker "Land of Sweets and Treats" show, Disneyland Performing Art Show, and Annual Spring Recital. In addition, for students on the Company Team, we attend several competitions and conventions across Southern California, such as Starbound, Hollywood Vibe, Hall of Fame, Jump, Nuvo and 24Seven. We have award-winning teams with many scholarship winners.
Diane Collins, Owner and Artistic Director
Originally from Boston, Diane Collins trained at the Donna Miceli Dance Center of Boston for over 20 years, traveling and performing internationally. Her training included classical ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance. Diane also studied with the Boston Ballet and the Jeanette Neill Dance Studio.
Moving to LA over 25 years ago, she opened DC Dance LA in Santa Monica as a performance and competitive dance studio for kids ages 3 to 18. She was able to keep her studio operating during the pandemic through a mix of online classes, outdoor parking lot classes and small pods. She relocated her studio in 2021 to the 4,000 square foot indoor/outdoor dance space in Culver City to offer her students a space keep moving, dancing and having fun safely.
Celebrating 25 Years of DC Dance LA
Hundreds of Miss Diane's current and former students, teachers friends and family surprised her with an emotionally heartfelt video tribute on the 25th Anniversary of DC Dance LA. This video tells the story of the close-knit, loving and supportive community she has helped foster.
